This is the beautiful wild rose that grow EVERYWHERE along the roads here. This one was coming out of the middle of a rock on the sand...talking about making the most of what you've got!

Bikers
My new fantastic MEC stroller also converts into a bike trailer so this weekend we took the kids out for a cruise! Anna was a huge fan and squeled with delight at every bump, Jamie on the other hand was NOT a fan of his helmet. I think it made his already large head even heavier but needless to say it was a good time and I think we'll do it again! :)

Just Like Christmas!
Saturday was a very happy day in Yellowknife....our stuff arrived!! The movers were here bright and early and out by 10:30 which meant that my happy children had an awesome afternoon looking at everything.
Here is Anna enjoying the "living" room. I think she had more fun when it was full of boxes.

When the unpacking was well underway we took some time on Father's Day to have a nice dinner on the deck and enjoy some bubbly. Thank you Elaine and Bob!

OPPS!
I apolise for my tardy postings! In the hustle and bustle of packing I managed to put the charger for the camera battery in the stuff coming on the moving van so my camera sits dead and I can't post any new pics!
The latest news is that THE truck is arriving on Saturday with all of our stuff! YAH! No more camping out on the floor and sharing our cutlery!
The kids and I have been exploring this fine city. We ventured to the grocery store and found it not too surprising! It was basically a "No Frills" and had a HUGE Joe Fresh section for kids clothes!! YIPEE! The most shocking thing has been the price of things like onions (Think $6.00/bag). Today we went into "town" and checked out the mall. Meg and I were slightly disappointed but between Reitmans and Wal-Mart I'm sure we can buy ourselves some clothes. We found the library today as well and it was GREAT....a wonderful children's section!
This weekend we may venture out to the dump! (I know that some of you probably don't want to be my friend anymore after hearing that :) ) The locals have a "salvage" area where people can drop off good items that they don't want anymore. I've heard rumours of people finding $800 Chariot strollers and full bedroom suites there. This I MUST see!!

Home Sweet Home
The kids and I arrived in Yellowknife after quite an adventure getting here. We ran through airports in Amazing Race style speed and dragging screaming children behind us but arrived with smiles for our husbands.
Our apartment is beautiful and absolutely the best setting in town....the only draw-back...NO FURNITURE! The moving company seems pretty accurate with their estimate of June 24th and though we cross our fingers we think eating "picnic" style and sleeping on airbeds is the way of our future for the next 2 weeks!
This view is what makes living like squaters MUCH more bearable!

Tim is happy because they sell VB(his fav Australian beer) at the liquer store here. They also sell Strongbox in an 8 pack! This could be trouble!!!
